❓Why focus on fantasy art?

Since Faerian represents fantasy art, we see each artwork as a window or a door to imaginary worlds. As we get older, we don't always have the time to watch Netflix and escape to a land far, far away. But art allows us to escape, instantly, with just a glance.

Fantasy has been around since the dawn of time. We first saw it through Mythology (like Ulysses, and through the hero Odysseus) and stories told around the hearth through the oral tradition for generations. Stories that transport us to a realm beyond our wildest dreams, such as "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. You can read more about the origins and tradition of fantasy art here.

When we think of modern fantasy, we think of names like Tolkien, Game of Thrones, The Witcher, video games, books, music, and many more.

However - none of this art is represented through an art gallery! Enter stage left - Faerian!

Fantasy art today primarily lives in various forms in the entertainment industry, and online platforms such as DeviantArt. While the idea of an art platform is great in theory, the hard work that Artists put in to creating their wonderful work is often lost in the shuffle. Moreover, the artist isn't rewarded for their creative talents. This needs to change!

Fantasy artists are incredibly skilled at making you travel to another universe by just the power of an image. We thought it is time to reward that talent by rewarding the artists for who they are and the richness they bring to our world.
